This team, based in the city of Fukuoka on the southwest tip of Japan, was a founding member of the Pacific League during its formation in the mid-20th century. The team has gone under a number of names since its inception which includes the Nishetetsu Lions and the franchises current name the Saitama Seibu Lions. The franchise has won numerous Pacific League pennants and Japan Series titles over it's 80 years of baseball.
