"Alis" has always been difficult to define. As a clothing company, playground, workshop, skateboarding community, and a place for creative and free-thinking people, they are so much more than a brand.
The two friends, Albert and Isabelle, established ALIS back in 1996 in Christiania Freetown, and in 1998, ALIS and friends built the skatepark they called Wonderland in the same location. This became the focal point for the madness and adventures that continue there to this day.
ALIS has a long history of supporting underground culture. Among the highlights were the 18-day hip-hop festival "Subkult" in 1996, one of the most important skate competitions of its time, the Scandinavian Open in 2001, 02, 03, and they have contributed to the construction of a number of skateparks around Denmark.
The legendary ALIS box logo on stickers, caps, and tees has helped make this so much more than just a logo, indeed, the movement it is today.
